Hola, I'm Bea πŸ‘‹

The traveler behind @beaglobaltraveler

Venezuelan-born, based in the US, powered by curiosity and a good pair of walking shoes. I've visited 76 countries across 6 continents, 48 out of 50 US states, and I'm just getting started. When I'm not exploring the world, I work in tech as a Product Manager and run a nonprofit teaching kids to code. My mom always said: seeing new people, trying new food, and understanding others is how we grow. She was right.

πŸ“– My story

Growing up
Born in Venezuela
Grew up in a country that taught me resilience, warmth, and the best arepas in the world. Traveled a lot across Venezuela and Colombia with my family, with frequent trips to Florida. My mom always said: seeing new people, trying new food, and understanding others is how we grow as people. That stuck with me.
8th grade
Moved to Florida
Moved to the United States and learned English. A new country, a new language, a completely new world. The beginning of a lifetime of adapting and thriving in unfamiliar places.
12th grade
Gymnasium in Berlin
Spent a year at a Gymnasium in Berlin, Germany. Learned German, discovered Europe, and realized the world is much bigger than I thought. This is where the travel obsession really took root.
College
Wisconsin, China, and India
Studied in Wisconsin, then studied abroad at Beijing Normal University in Zhuhai, China and SRCC in Delhi, India. Two countries that changed everything about how I see the world.
Career
Built a career in tech
Landed in the tech industry as a Product Manager, learning to ship products, solve problems at scale, and work with engineers who build things that reach millions of people.
The mission
Founded Nuevo Foundation πŸ€–
Started a nonprofit to teach kids, especially from underrepresented communities, how to code. Because if I can go from Venezuela to tech, others can too. Nuevo Foundation is one of the things I'm most proud of in life.
The obsession
76 countries and counting 🌍
What started as "let me see a few countries" turned into a full-blown obsession. 76 countries later, I realized the best way to learn about the world is to show up and eat the food. My mom was right all along.
2024-2025
Africa, South America, and Oceania
Seychelles, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritius. Then Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay. Australia and New Zealand next. 48 of 50 US states checked off.

Actually been there
Every city guide is based on my real visits. No SEO-farm content, no "top 10 things" copied from other blogs. I walked those streets.
🍜
Food first
I believe you understand a culture through its food. Every guide leads with restaurants, street food, and dishes you should not miss.
πŸ“Š
Data, not vibes
Interactive maps with pinned locations, budget ranges, neighborhood breakdowns, and day-by-day itineraries. Built by a PM who loves structure.
🚫
Zero sponsored content
No affiliate links, no "this post was sponsored by", no cookie popups begging for your email. Just honest recommendations.
πŸŒ™
Built different
Dark theme, clean design, interactive maps. This is a travel site built by an engineer, not a WordPress template with stock photos.
